Jared was originally born and raised in Brownsburg, Indiana.
He grew up with a wealth of musical influence in his life, starting with his family. He is a self taught
composer, and has had extensive formal training as well. Live orchestrating and composition are his
primary focuses. He has obtained work ranging from film, TV, and interactive media, as well as collaborations
with other composers and musicians.
As far as his history with music, Jared has had formal training on violin and percussion/ drumset.
During his high school career he placed 2nd two years in a row in a young artist competition on snare
drum. Jared was in marching band for over 4 years, as well as being in his school's top jazz band for 3 years.
He has had even further study on drumset and percussion playing for the Purdue and Ball State University jazz bands and combos.
He eventually found his way to Boston and obtained a bachelor's degree from the prestigous Berklee College of Music in film scoring / composition.
He currently resides in New York City, and continues to push forward with a career in music.
In Jared's free time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, cars, hunting, boating, jet skis, computer games, building computers, photography, building websites, and of course, composing music. Jared's strong musical influences are composers such as Yoko Kanno, Dmitri Shostakovich, Dave Brubeck, and Jerry Goldsmith. Other likeable artists include Jamiroquai, Zero 7, Air, Diana Krall, Iron and Wine, and a fan of anything on Secret Agent or Groove Salad (somafm.com). |
